Knows her Secret, Miley Cyrus' "So Undercover"

Miley Cyrus as Molly works as a private investigator. You will like the way she pretends as room service attendant because it’s so funny that you need to know why her dad says "What accent is that?" You will also see her jump over the cliff of high building, which is not scary but still a good thing to watch because she is expected to do at least a little danger as private investigator.

Molly, aka Brooke Stonebridge, is a shocking girl among her sorority sisters. You will be astonished with her action. Most of the time, she is having a slippery mouth because she is having a hard time to keep her secret. Her experiences and knowledge as private investigator allows her to be witty but clumsy sometimes. Asking "Have you killed someone?" during a date is a big "no, no", but sometimes it works. 

If I will rate it, this is a very good movie to learn why a person lies, betray and endanger someone’s reputation. It will show the importance of sisterhood in case someone is in need. It will teach you the reason why we should understand a person in doing stupid stuff. Admission is very hard to do knowing the effects may be rejection but it would be the best way to have true friends. Someone may have a disease or imperfection but it doesn't mean you will put her down. I really like Cotton. She is so unique among the Kappa Sisters. She may not be that brainy college girls, but her stuff works sometimes.

When it comes to music and sound effect, it is refreshing. The songs are very youthful and exciting. It is place to the right scene and it will be love by everyone because it will let you feel to dance while watching this movie.

You will like the twist of the story like the makeover, in knowing who the real bad guy is and how they will rescue their sorority sisters.

In some way, you will notice that this is common story for college girls who is building relationship with her schoolmate, peers and opposite sex. I feel like I am watching “Miss Congeniality”. But what is important to me is how they execute it because it happens in real life. New young ladies or men MAY not appreciate old movies which has similar story because of its settings and lifestyle. However, watching this fresh movie will inspire the youth on how they can overcome the trials that they may encounter as they growing.

No violence but Parental Guidance: A movie feedback

If you love your grandparent or not, you will definite love this movie. It was recently launched in the  Philippines and now available in major cinema which started last January 16, 2013. The story is about a husband and wife who will try to perform their parenthood and manage their daughter’s family life.

Being layoff from job is a very painful part in career life and hard to accept especially if that is your whole life and passion.  This was what grandpa Artie(Billy Crystal) was struggling when he was terminated as game commentator in baseball. However, this became his opportunity to visit and have time for his grandchildren in babysitting them because his daughter and his son-in-law will travel for vacation.

The mother Alice(Marisa Tomei), who had been very intact with her children, is having a hard time to part away and entrust them to her parents. Usually, there's a lot of crying that happen and sadness but this one is a little funny because of mother’s action. In this way, Artie and Diane taught their daughter to give time to his husband and appreciate his husband’s achievement. You will learn that you should be ready for times that your behalf needs you and just for kids only. 

One of the memorable lesson that appreciated was to understand that letting go is hard for children who have special friend. The youngest child name Barker buried a friend(an imaginary kangaroo who died in a car accident) is very good scene because this is one of the common scenario that usually happen experiencing a different world. Instead of forgetting the issue, the grandparents and family members took part in the child sadness and sorrow.

This also shows you how to take time on everything. You have the right to play and enjoy.  You have the right to choose which career you will take because you know more of yourself instead of doing what other people told you to do. This was what the eldest daughter name Harper (Bailee Madison) and her mom (Alice)  learned. The mother was expecting her  daughter to play beautifully with a musical instrument for the audition but later realized that the daughter is not happy with it and just forcing hard just to please her.

Then they realized that it was the boy name Turner (Joshua Rush), who love public speeches and exposure and he was like his grandpa. He likes commentating in game and with the helped of grandpa's motivation skill, Turner proved that he can do it. 

  

In return, the grandparents also realized that one of the special events of their life was being a grandparents. Diane was so determined to prove that they are not just another grandparents and she had been successful in her goal. They will also realize how important this to them. They had made some mistake and gave wrong advice but the good thing was their willingness to ask for apology and correct it.

The Impossible: A heart breaking and inspiring Movie

The Impossible was based from a  true story of a Spanish family who suffered from the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. It is about a fight for survival and in search for their love ones. The movie shows the agony of each people who had been misfortune, under the misery and how this event affects their lives. The pain is not on physical injuries but the pain lies on the heart when you find your love one is gone.

The story begins as the family travel after a busy year and due to Christmas season.  It is a picture of a perfect family, a happy family who tries to enjoy their vacation in a unexploited beach in Thailand. But they are not aware of the surprise that they will get there. 

I was so terrified when the tsunami started. It was very horrifying to see people as they fought against drowning. They swam hard as the muddy waves, woods, assorted objects as it  banged, bruised and wounded their body.  It's like a horror movie that really scares me especially with the second hit of the tsunami. They had suffered a lot and survived the first hit but then there was another one to make sure no one will  survive. I can't imagine it.

The very good thing  with the story is about helping people. Maria had been heavily injured and I was sicken to saw the wound at her leg. However, even with her situation, she still want to help the people in need. The urban people, volunteers, nurse and doctor had been very busy to rescue and assist patient.

I highly recommend this movie. Philippines screening starts this January.

The Man With the Iron Fists(2012) coming in Manila

The Man With the Iron Fists it is an action movie which was launch last 2012. Now, it is coming in Manila.  I am looking for a new movie on the web when I see this very interesting title. 

The story is about the gold treasure, love, friendship, brotherhood, loyalty, betrayal, power and revenge. The governor assign the Lion's clan to guard the gold shipment which will pass to the Jungle village. Due to greed and hunger for power, Silver and Bronze Lion betrayed and killed Gold Lion to stole the gold with the help of the governor's aide. Silver Lion became leader of the Lions. For this reason, Zen Yi, son of Gold Silver, left his wife and seeked revenge for his father's death. But Zen Yi failed when he encountered Brass. His strength and weapons are not enough to ruined the brass metal that magically protect Brass body. 

With the help of Lady Silk and Blacksmith, Zen Yi was aided to heal. However, Silver Lion discover that Blacksmith is keeping Zen Yi and had recently making weapon for him. He is beaten to near death and his both hands are cut. Jack Knife (Russell Crowe) had helped him to recover and created the iron fist as replacement of the detached arms of the Blacksmith. 

The Gemini who handle the shipment was confronted by the Lions. With the helped of Poison Dagger, the Lions successfully eliminated the Gemini and take away the gold.

Madam Blossom made partnership with the Lions to kept the gold in the secret room of the lounge. The Lions didn't realized that Madam Blossom and her girls are the Black Widow clan. That night, a tap warning killed every soldiers of the Lions. Lady Silk who had slept with Brass failed to kill him due to the brass skin protection. She was been beaten to almost near death. 

Zen Yi chased Silver Lions for his revenge in the secret room. He ended on the mirror maze and takes pain and confusion before meeting Silver Lion. Silver Lion died due to inattentiveness and was buried under the gold file. Blacksmith, in revenge for his beloved girlfriend's death and lost of arms, confronted Brass. With his learning from the monks, the Blacksmith able to ruin the brass metal by transferring the force and destroyed him into pieces.  

    

Expectation

I am expecting more action of the main character. You may think that he only had the supporting role. There are times that the flow of the story is incomprehensible because you are not sure about who is performing the lead role. The story became messy because there are numerous scene that may had been better if it had been limited and some should be extended. For example, the flashback of his escaped as a freed slave. Less talking with more excitement and slow movement effects may had made it is more dramatic. The part where the Blacksmith is been beaten and lost arms, may have been more artistic if the beaten was extended. More pain, more emotions.

Facial expression are not that impressive. Blacksmith had dull, stoned face  in most of the scene.  



What I love is....

Blood are not overflowing. Just enough but I still have that disgusted face every time a blood spatter. The fight scenes are remarkable. I love the way Lucy Liu's performance. It is like watching a Charlie's Angels movie. As she perform the fight scene, the pink leaves that flies in the air represent her character. She elegantly use her metal fan as a weapon. It is very fabulous and artistic.

The performance of the Geminis are also great. The concept of having a Gemini position during battle is very unique and artistic.  

The weaponry and swordsmanship is also good. I love the Gemini's weapon. The Yin and Yang symbols emphasize the teamwork of two and with balance. The gun that Jack Knife uses are very creative. Having  a gun, small circular blade and knife as a combo is inventive.   

The suit of Zen Yi is functional which is a good protective gear. The installation of the new iron fist is a brilliant idea. The hot, burning fist are unthinkable. I would not dare to touch a hot pot just to feel the pain.

Movie Review:Jack Reacher Don't Care About The Law, But He is the One You Can Trust

Jack Reacher is an action movie seeking the truth about mysterious death of 5 innocent people. The accused, James Barr(Joseph Sikora) requested to see Jack Reacher(Tom Cruise) because Barr claims that he is innocent and no one will be able to help him other than Jack. 

Barr requests may have been denied by Emerson(David Oyelowo) and Alex Rodin (Richard Jenkins), however Reacher saw the telecast of what happen and gave surprised appearance in the investigation. The quest for truth had been very hard for Jack Reacher. Before he identifies the true mastermind(The Zec), he had to study the victims background, crime scene and make his personal theories that it is not random killing of innocent people. It is a tactic to mislead the true target of the gunshots.

Helen Rodin(Rosamund Pikes), the defense attorney, had been very helpful in Reacher's quest. She may not immediately believe the story and theories of Reacher but later she realize that she is also in danger. She had been kidnapped to lure Reacher. With the help of Cash(Robert Duvali), Reacher successfully  rescued Helen and meet the Siberian gang behind the killings. After eliminating all Siberian gangmen, Reacher believes that Helen can clear his name and bring justice to the case. 

Good Point

Rosamund Pikes had been very good in portraying Helen. She had been remarkable in her acting. You will feel when she is angry, scared, shocked and confused especially during discussion with her father and her rescue. Her facial expression only is already her acting. 

I love the concept how Reacher escape the car chase. It's thrilling to see that cops are just a step away from him. It's a well executed scene.

The twist of the mystery is there. I never suspected Emerson as one of the spy until he shows his part in the elevator. This is because of the way he is presented in the beginning of the story as a seeker of truth. This was a well emphasized scene that you will thought that he will be the sidekick of the main actor.

I wish it was...

The start  of the story have been a bit long. The excitement only starts after 30-45 minutes. It would have been better if they shorten some scene because they are unnecessary. I am expecting more from the car chase because the danger is not breath taking. In some instance, I'm seeking for more  anger, shouting and the controllable hand-to-hand combat to make it powerful. It's  not like Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible. However, I believe that editing and cutting unnecessary scenes will make a big difference because it may intensify the flow of the film and eliminates some dull moments. 

Overall, the story is good because of the mystery is there. It just need a little changes.

Movie Review: Chinese Zodiac (CZ12), Definitely Breath Taking Movie by Jackie Chan

If you want a great action packed movie, you must see this Jackie Chan movie. Jackie will never fail your expectation with his action moves and comic antics. Kung-Fu is well showcase in the movie. Even the girls are kicking, gliding, jumping and flying. You will see how creative Jackie as a director, writer and actor with his production staff in maneuvering the fight scene and the flow of the story.

The story was so interesting. Aside from showing the patriotism of the people to his country and culture, the story is about how these Chinese Zodiac's bronze heads and international treasures are auctioned and gained values to million of Euros. The 4 stamps is a good concept on how to increase its value. 

The escape at the start of the story was very breathtaking. Dangerous stunts are done specially when he's wearing roller blade all over his body to glide while standing or laying down, under a moving vehicle and in the sides of a cliff.

Aside from JC, his partners, Simon (Kwon Sang-woo), David(Liao Fan), and Bonnie(Zhang Lan Xin) are thieves who steal international Cultural Treasures and make replicas. It showcase how technology now can create an imitation of the original using a machine.

The chase at the garden maze is very exciting and very funny. The use of fumes to distract the dogs' tracking ability are very intelligent idea. JC scared the dog by acting as a dog. That is a crazy man.

JC take advantage of Katherine (Laura Weissbecker) request to help her to seek her great grandfather's corpse. They sailed to seek the Indestructible ship who they believe involved in the destruction of the Old Summer Place and took away it treasures. They didn't realize they are followed. Then, there are pirates. Every single moments makes me laugh during this scene.You will be shock with a black African or maybe another nation as a Mandarin translator, the Caucasian pirates turned to burned-smoking pirate, the skin inflammation of the pirates after bitten by the bees  and the escaped in the ship is like a roller coaster ride.

The rescue scene of the Dragon head from the mission "Let the Dragon Fly"  is the last  and one of the great part. You may thought the chain of 4 persons as a body of the dragon flying in the clouds. You will feel the pain when Jackie roll over in volcano's exterior. It's death defying stunts. 

I hope someone from the Philippines will support and launch Chinese Zodiac (CZ12) to cinemas.

FlashBack! Movie Collection 2012: TikTik The Aswang Chronicles

       One of my Favorite Movie that I watched in big screen is  TikTik, The Aswang Chronicles. This was also my first time to attend a Filipino Movie Premiere Night, and that made it really special to me.

       A big thanks to @TIKTIKOct17 for the twitter contest for ticket giveaways. I am one of the person who had been given the privileged to watched it in advance.

       It had been a great opportunity to saw artist especially the main cast like Dingdong Dantes and Lovi Poe. I am so excited to have a chance to take a picture of Dingdong since he just 10 steps away from me.

 

       I also saw Rochelle Pangilinan, Arthur Solinap and 1 male star that I can't remember the name but I am sure that he is a celebrity who is also with the two. I am a bit sad because I don't have pictures of these people since they just step in front of us to get inside the cinema. Maybe I got starstruck but I really like the time that Rochelle Pangilinan smiles at me.

The Movie

       They showcase the Filipino rural culture and mythological creature. The fact about most Filipino youth of today are not prepared in building a family and assurance  of what will happen in the future, shows a good reminder to everyone as one of the  reasons why families are broken.  

       For me, it is more of comedy than horror. Most of the time people are aloud because of the funny scene. 

       I love the tag-of war between Joey Marquez (Nestor) and the aswang. Janice de Belen(Fely) is abused by two. Ramon Bautista (Bart) is funny specially when he shared the candy. No wonder, he always had a red lips. The three of them showcase there comic act and it is so effective that you will realize that you have a happy face. The Boy Bawang concept was something you will always remember but I will not do that when I encounter an Aswang. It is not proven and tested so will not try that. But that is very genuine idea.

       All the aswang acts are serious. Never saw them to be comic and it balance the funny acts of main characters.  

Movie and Big Screen Collection

It is the start of New Year 2013 so I started collating all My 2012 Movie Memorabilia.

It may be too late to write something about My 2012 Movie Collection. However, I treasure the time I had the opportunity to watch them for free. If you will analyse, it is not totally free because of the time, effort and expenses associated in joining, claiming and eating while or after watching it in the big screen.

Also, expect a new 2013 Movie Review from me. I am so excited to watch the new line up of International and Local Filipino Films.
